This arrangement of the rhythm ijexá is based on the traditional rhythms of the agogo and atabaque used in sacred music and rhythms of afoxé groups from Salvador, Bahia. It includes parts for the instruments for the Rio style bateria, including surdos, repique, repique mor, caixa, agogo, tamborim, and chocalho, along with caxixi and timbal.
