Carl and Derek met and began playing improvisational music together as dance accompanists. The duo plays original, improvisational, and traditional music from around the world, with elements of Middle Eastern, North Indian classical, Afro-Brazilian folk and sacred music, and more. Their debut album “Pairings” was released in 2020 and is available for downloads on ViradaDrums.com.
